Enjoy your vacation in an authentic Cape Cod seaside neighborhood. It is located on Waquoit Bay, only steps back from the saltwater beach with gorgeous waterviews right from the house.  We have beach rights to a neighborhood beach on this saltwater bay, just steps away. It is a perfect location for families, time away with friends, or for couples looking for a place to "get away from it all". Take advantage of the many activities nearby, then enjoy your peaceful retreat when your day is done. After a busy day, come home and take a dip in the warm ocean bay.  We also have a wonderful Cape outdoor shower, complete with hot water. You will find yourself relaxing and may even sigh as you drive across the causeway and view the water on both sides on the way to your peaceful retreat.

For a full day at the beach, South Cape Beach, a mile long white sandy beach, is a short drive away; no highway travel is necessary to get there, and the traffic is minimal. Located on one of the most southernmost points of Cape Cod, the water is exceptionally warm, yet still refreshing. After a busy day, enjoy the breeze on our cheery sun porch. Take beautiful sunset photos right at our beach.

Walk along the causeway for an up-close look at the nesting osprey; or perhaps you will be fortunate to see one of our resident great blue herons. This restful sanctuary by the sea is off the beaten path, yet so close to so many activities and attractions. The house is located, not in a development, but in a traditional Cape Cod seaside neighborhood. Most of our guests tell us that their stay is more than they have imagined, and many come back each year, even in the off-season!

The interior of this 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage is sunny, clean and cheerful.  The kitchen opens out to the private back yard, allowing dining inside or out. For your convenience, all linens are provided for bedrooms and bath, the kitchen is completely stocked with all that you need for cooking and wrapping or storing your food. Your main concern for your vacation will be your clothes and food - we've made the rest easy for you!

If you have kayaks or can borrow or rent them for your stay, there is plenty of room to store them in the yard. If you have a small boat on a trailer, we can give you several options for storing the trailer for your visit. There are several public boat ramps nearby, and yes, there are fish in the bay! For the adventurous, Martha's Vineyard is about 4 1/2 miles away by boat or by ferry.

Golf courses and bike trails are plentiful, and shopping is easily accessible at the open air Mashpee Commons (minutes away), as well as Falmouth and Hyannis. For those who also must "work" on vacation, Mashpee Commons offers wireless hotspots. We also have a wireless connection for our two cottages.

Seconsett Island is charming; drive across the causeway (land bridge) and you will be at this cottage on the bay.

South Cape Beach State Park -- South Cape Beach, located between Waquoit Bay and Vineyard Sound, contains a wide variety of coastal environments, including barrier beach and dunes, salt marsh, scrub oak/pitch pine woodland and "kettle" ponds. A magnificent white sand beach stretches for over a mile.

Washburn Island Information - The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management, Division of Forests and Parks, manages the Island as a part of the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.
